We look up at the standing ovation filling the auditorium and take it all in. It wasn’t quite the Colosseum but for one night in Rome the Global Ambassadors became Musical Gladiators!

The renowned Global Ambassadors of The Music Man Project have been honoured with The King’s Award for Voluntary Service for 2024.

Music in Magic in Milan was more than just a concert. It was the first international collaboration between two disability music charities.

It was bonkers but brilliant. Military precision and control went out the window as the entire arena let their hair down and simly had fun!

Egged on by our revelling musicians, Mr Speaker's beaming smile and raucous laughter mirrored the Ambassadors' every note and movement.

Just a few years ago, ‘SEND Music Workshop’ meant children with special needs receiving instruction from school music teachers, local music authorities or renowned orchestras running community outreach projects. The lucky children got to hold a bassoon, sing a song or listen to a virtuoso mainstream musician. Too often these workshops just showed what people with learning disabilities can’t normally access on a regular basis. Friday June 16th 2023 at 10 Downing Street - 11am.

Before the final chord has even been played, a wave of emotion sweeps the Hall. Led by The King, the audience of 5000 rise to their feet.

It was a truly magical moment. The Music Man Project is all about making dreams come true - and any dream will do!

In my head I could hear Sir David telling me that TV coverage of this type was not something to pass over. "You've got to go for it".

The performance was best summed up by the words of Sinitta who walked onto the stage as we left and proclaimed, “How do I follow that!?"

The children were hugging and dancing with the Music Man group, having the time of their lives. They didn't even want to go back to class!
